Creator status
A creator is an independent author. They are bound to Etudesk SAS by a distribution and monetisation partnership agreement accepted in the app: they create and publish their content under their own responsibility, and Etudesk hosts, distributes and monetises it and pays them. Creators choose their topics and hours freely, with no minimum volume, may publish elsewhere under the terms of their agreement, and present themselves as “Etudesk creators”, never as Etudesk journalists.
Who can be a creator
Etudesk does not pick its creators: identity verification only makes sure you are a real, adult, identifiable person, responsible for what you publish. It is neither a selection nor an accreditation. Nationality, degrees, profession and press cards are never asked for: only residence counts. No account is opened in the name of a company, an association, an institution or a media outlet; sign-up is always in a personal capacity.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| A natural person | Never a company, an association or a media outlet |
| 18 or over | Checked during identity verification |
| Residence | In one of the 8 covered countries, and in the declared region |
| Verified identity | A real, adult, identifiable person |
| Acceptance | Community rules and creator agreement |
Pay
Etudesk pays for the creator's service in three ways, and only three: 120,000 FCFA per million qualified reads, in every country and on every channel; 50% of the price excluding VAT of each sponsored coverage published; and their share of the Premium reserve, which is 50% of the month's net Premium revenue, split between creators in proportion to the reads on their reserved content. The balance is paid automatically every Monday from 10,000 FCFA to a Wave, Orange Money, MTN MoMo or Moov Money wallet in the creator's name, at no cost to them. Fraudulent reads are not paid, and content removed as unlawful or false loses its revenue for months not yet closed. A statement can be disputed within 30 days after the month closes, and a rate change never applies to amounts already earned.
Taxes and social security
Creators handle their own social security (RSTI and CMU in Côte d'Ivoire, or their country's scheme) and declare their income in their country; the OHADA “entreprenant” status is recommended. Amounts are gross: Etudesk applies the withholding taxes required by law for the creator's country of residence and issues a yearly statement of amounts paid and withheld. Creators living outside Côte d'Ivoire provide their certificate of tax residence every year.
Sponsored coverage
The price excluding VAT depends on the region tier: A 150,000 FCFA, B 100,000 FCFA, C 50,000 FCFA. The sponsor orders and pays only through the Etudesk page: no direct consideration to the creator. Labelling rules and the hashtags concerned are in the Editorial tab. During the agreement and for 6 months after, the creator does not offer the same service directly to a sponsor met through Etudesk.
Limits
To protect quality, an account creates at most 20 new contents per day, and one sponsored coverage is possible for every 4 contents published without a sponsor, counted since sign-up. These are caps, not targets, and they are the same for every creator.
Ownership of content
Creators keep ownership of their content and remain its publishers. They grant Etudesk a non-exclusive worldwide licence to host it, distribute it on every Etudesk channel, translate, summarise and archive it and quote extracts, always under their name. A live is recorded while it airs and its replay stays available as a video of the content. Under a 72-hour exclusivity after publication, they do not publish it elsewhere; after that, they may republish it, crediting Etudesk. Without their consent, Etudesk does not resell it or use it to train a third party's artificial intelligence. Creators guarantee they hold the rights to their texts, photos and videos.
Data and confidentiality
The ID document is used only for verification: after approval, only its result is kept. Location is checked only occasionally, with the creator's consent each time, and the mobile money number is used only for payouts. Creators never have to reveal their sources, and they respond within 12 hours to a right-of-reply request. Both parties keep the other's non-public information confidential during the agreement and for two years after.
End of the agreement
Before any suspension, loss of revenue or termination for misconduct, the creator is told the facts and has 7 days to respond. Creators can stop at any time by deleting their account; Etudesk can end the agreement with 15 days' notice, or without notice for serious misconduct (fraud, direct consideration, repeated unlawful or false content, plagiarism). The earned balance is then paid within 30 days at most, even below 10,000 FCFA, except amounts linked to fraud; the content is removed from public view. Disputes first go through a claim and mediation.
