Orange jersey: demand picks up again in Adjamé's sports shops

In Adjamé, sportswear shops are seeing demand for the national team's orange jersey pick up again as international matches resume. In the four shops visited this Tuesday, the official jersey sells for around 45,000 FCFA, while copies on nearby stalls go for 3,000 to 7,000 FCFA.
Because of the price gap, most supporters turn to the copies, which also come in children's sizes. Traders say they sell several dozen a day in match weeks, against just a few the rest of the time.
Sellers of official jerseys rely on gifts and on diaspora customers visiting Abidjan. Several traders regret the lack of an official mid-priced range that would let them compete with the copies.
What the creator verified this Tuesday: the prices displayed in four Adjamé shops and on nearby stalls. What remains to be confirmed: actual sales volumes, which traders declined to give precisely.
