Port-Bouët: over 300 young people trained in digital skills over the holidays, an encouraging first review

Port-Bouët's town hall presented this weekend the results of its civic holidays programme, which allowed more than 300 young people from the district to take free introductory courses in digital skills, office software and job searching between July and September. The final session wrapped up on Saturday at the community centre.
Launched after repeated observations of young people with little to do during the long school break, the programme brought together the town hall, local associations and volunteer students who ran the workshops. Places, capped at 25 per session, filled up quickly, with some parents mentioning a waiting list for future editions.
Among participants, several say they wrote their first CV or discovered online job-search tools, seen as useful ahead of the next round of internship applications. Organisers acknowledge some limits, though: the number of available computers remains insufficient for demand, and some sessions had to be split into two groups.
What the creator verified this Sunday: around thirty young people actually present at the final session, and certificates handed out at the end of the programme. What remains to be confirmed: whether the town hall will repeat the programme during the next school holidays, a decision organisers say has not yet been made.
