The Côte d'Ivoire Water Distribution Company (SODECI) has announced the gradual restoration of water supply in Cocody Angré from late morning this Monday, after a nearly 48-hour cut linked to works on a main pipe. The Angré 7th, 8th and 9th sections have been hardest hit since Saturday.

According to SODECI's notice, the cut was needed to repair a major leak detected on the network serving the area, following several reports of pressure drops last week. Water tankers were positioned at four points in the zone during the works, with queues sometimes long at peak hours.

Angré residents had to adapt: several households drew on their reserves or asked neighbours connected to another part of the network, while vendors selling water in jerrycans saw their business pick up over the weekend. Neighbourhood associations are asking that this type of interruption be announced earlier in future, to let families plan.

What the creator verified this Sunday evening: tankers present at three of the four announced points, and a queue still dense in the late afternoon. What remains to be confirmed: the exact time water actually returns to the tap, as SODECI speaks of a "gradual" restoration over the course of Monday.
